John James Swann was born on the 8 Dec 1892, and as you say his death was registered in Cheltenham between April and June 1971, Volume 7b, page 837, the person that signed the death certificate would have been the registrar I will check on his birth tomorrow (I live in Australia and it's getting a bit late!).

I have done an Internet Search on you Grangfathers name and it threw up many options. As you have been looking hard for him it could be that many of these references were generated by you.

If you just go into you WebBrowser and input his name in inverted commes you will find the same references as I did. I'm sorry but his name doesn't ring a bell with me, nor does the name James Archibald Crichton Boyd but aninternet search also threw up a few options.

I am sure that if any of our memnbers recognise the names they will be back to you.

I am searching for news of my Grandfather who disappeared from Glasgow in 1936. I have discovered he died in Bishop Cleeves in 1971, he was a retired Hall Keeper at the time. The person who signed the death certificate was James Archibald Crichton Boyd. I would be grateful for any information on either person. my Email address is nthompson@hotmail.co.uk
